Since I am still very, very busy with getting my engineering degree at the moment, i don’t have as much time for christmas3dp as i had while i was getting my German “Abitur” (similar to high school) – so i am mixing up the concept.
There will be multiple kinds of products and orders listed below.
Regular Products
These products will be available for purchase on-demand and shipping will take place every Saturday of the week. Orders placed from Sunday to Thursday will always have to wait until Saturday to be shipped. We at christmas3dp were never the fastest with shipping – and certainly aren’t now. However, if things are really urgent, for a small fee, we will get things shipped in certain time periods (1-2 days) with express delivery if requested. Sometimes, things just can’t wait and we know that.
Pre-Orders
These products will be very, very price competitive and have long wait times. There will be a time the pre-orders are open (for example for a month), and after that month, the order at the supplier is placed. Since the exact demand is known, only as much as requested will be imported (sometimes more) and then sent to the pre-orders. These products aim to give buyers as close to a price that i have as possible, and aren’t sold with much of a profit. Note that wait times for these may be very long.
Self-Developed Products
Some products will be self-developed and made by this store. They are not made in-house anymore, but will be made by contractors (to save time). These will be unique to christmas3dp and be sold at very competitive prices as well, to continue our aim to lower the cost of entry for high-end 3D printing. These will ship the same way as Regular Products do.
Product Requests (similar to group-buys)
If you and a group of people are interested in a certain kind of product to be manufactured, there will be a page for opening product requests. At christmas3dp, we have established contact with a lot of manufacturers in the 3D printing space – including machine shops, filament makers (and crazy machinists who will make anything you throw at them, but they are a seperate category). We can arrange manufacturing, importing and distributing for you, and only take a minimal cut for our own effort. We look to make group buys easier and allow for people to make use of our experience in the 3D printing space.
The requests may also be opened as pre-orders for anyone to join in.
Okay, but when?!
We’re working on it. That’s as much as i can say – this site is not complete and around 90% of it is not visible to the public as of yet. But we are on it! The legalities of selling things are not easy to figure out and we are making sure we are covering everything!
